The Tribe
← Back to the free tools For anyone worried about the future

Anxious about the future? You are not the only one.

If the future feels heavy right now, your job, your money, the climate, getting older, you are not being dramatic and you are not alone. Worry about what is coming is one of the most common feelings there is. This page has free, private tools to steady the next hour, and a place to belong for the longer road.

You are not imagining it

The feeling is widely shared, not a personal failing.

When the future feels frightening, it helps to know how many people are carrying the same weight. Three honest figures, each one sourced and dated:

59%

of young people in a global survey were very or extremely worried about climate change, and 84% at least moderately worried.

Hickman et al., The Lancet Planetary Health, December 2021. Source

57%

Across 36 countries, a median of 57% of adults say children in their country will grow up worse off financially than their parents.

Pew Research Center, published 9 January 2025. Source

24%

of people aged 15 and over across 142 countries felt very or fairly lonely, and young adults aged 19 to 29 were the loneliest group, at 27%.

Every figure we quote is sourced and dated on our numbers page. We never round up or invent one.

The longer road

The tools help for an hour. People help for good.

A worksheet can steady a bad evening. It cannot sit with you week after week. That is what The Tribe is for: a place to belong when the future feels uncertain. One community, many doors: make friends, find work, meet someone serious, help start a member-backed club, or simply be heard. Belong first. Everything else follows.

We are new, and we will not pretend otherwise or invent members to look busier than we are. If you join now you are one of the first, and the people who show up now shape what this becomes. Free to join: membership later runs on trust, where Tribers contribute 1% of their income by their ability, never chased, with no payment to start.

Questions people ask

Honest answers about anxiety and the future.

Is it normal to feel anxious about the future?

Yes. Worry about what is coming, from your job and money to the climate and getting older, is one of the most common feelings there is, and it tends to grow in uncertain times. Feeling it does not mean you are weak or that something is wrong with you. It usually eases when you separate what you can actually act on from what you cannot, take one small step, and do not carry it entirely alone.

What can I do about anxiety about the future right now?

Start small and concrete. Name the worries on your mind, then sort them into what you can control, what you can only influence, and what you must make peace with. Pick one thing from the control list and choose the smallest next step you could take this week. The free tools on this page walk you through exactly that, privately, in a few minutes. Then, when you are ready, connecting with other people is one of the strongest steadying forces there is.

Are these tools really free and private?

Yes. They are free, need no sign-up, and everything you type stays in your own browser. Nothing is sent to us, saved, or shared, and closing the page clears it. We would rather offer a genuinely private tool than ask you to hand over anything personal to use it.

Is The Tribe a mental health service?

No, and we will be plain about that. These are gentle self-help prompts, not therapy, medical advice, or a crisis service. If anxiety is overwhelming you, keeping you awake, or getting in the way of daily life, please talk to your doctor or a local support line. If you ever feel unable to keep yourself safe, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away. Reaching for real support is a strength, not a failure.

How much does The Tribe cost?

Joining is free, with no payment to start and no pressure. The Tribe runs on a simple pledge given by ability: when a member is ready, being a Triber means contributing 1% of their income, in their own way, and no one is ever chased. A hard season means you give nothing and stay a Triber. Access is the same whatever anyone gives.

I feel alone in this. Can The Tribe actually help?

The honest answer is that a website cannot fix a hard future, and we will never claim it can. What we can offer is a place to belong: real people, many doors, and a promise that no one here stands alone. We are early, so you may find things quiet, which usually means you are early, not alone. The people who arrive now build what it becomes.

This page is a gentle guide, not medical advice. If worry about the future is overwhelming you or affecting daily life, please talk to your doctor or a local support line. In an emergency, or if you feel unable to keep yourself safe, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
