Terms of use

Please read this. These are the current terms for using The Tribe. They are written honestly and in plain language. They are not legal advice, and they are staged for review by a qualified lawyer once The Tribe forms its legal entity. Parts (especially governing law) may change then. Until that review, these are the terms that apply.
1. Accepting these terms & who can join
By creating an account or using The Tribe you agree to these terms and to our Community guidelines and Privacy page. You must be at least 18 years old. We confirm your date of birth once at signup; if you are under 18 you cannot join. Nothing on The Tribe is intended for children.
2. Your account
Give accurate information, keep your password safe, and don’t share your account. One account per person. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at admin@thetribe.cloud if you think it’s been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to follow the Community guidelines, which form part of these terms. In short: be 18+, be real, keep the marriage door to marriage/serious relationships (no hookups), treat people with respect, no exploitation or content involving minors, no spam or scams, no illegal content, and respect others’ privacy and intellectual property.
4. Your content, and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of everything you post: your posts, comments, profile, photos and messages are yours. So that we can actually run the service, you grant The Tribe a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, back up, display and distribute your content on and for the purpose of operating The Tribe. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that remain in routine backups until they rotate out. You’re responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to share it.
5. Contributions
Membership runs on trust, not a paywall. As a Triber you’re expected to contribute 1% of your income: 1% monthly, or 1% of your year once a year, your choice, by your ability. There are no tiers, no minimum, no maximum, no payment to start, and we never chase you. Contributions are voluntary and non-refundable. When you’re ready, email us and we reply privately with where to send it; we don’t publish payment details. A portion of what you give goes to the Tribe’s activities and a portion to the founder who builds and runs it.
6. The doors: what we do and don’t promise
- Marriage / matchmaking: we help members who want marriage or a serious relationship find each other. We do not run background checks or identity verification, and we can’t guarantee anyone’s intentions or outcomes. Use your judgement and meet safely.
- Support: peer kindness from fellow members. We are not therapists, doctors, or a crisis service, and nothing here is professional or medical advice. In an emergency contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.
- Careers & volunteering: we host listings and introductions. We don’t employ you, don’t vet every employer or role, and don’t guarantee any job, placement, or outcome. Verify opportunities independently.
- Athletes & clubs: things like a member-backed football club are goals we’re building toward with members, described honestly as aspirations, not assets that already exist.
7. The service is provided “as is”
We work hard to make The Tribe useful and safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We can’t promise the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every expectation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Tribe and its founder are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, or for the conduct of other members or third parties. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Indemnity
If your misuse of The Tribe, or your breach of these terms, causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result, to the extent the law allows.
10. Suspension & ending your membership
You can leave at any time by deleting your account in Settings. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or where needed to protect members or comply with the law. Where it’s fair to do so, we’ll tell you why and, for content, you can appeal.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as The Tribe grows (and after the lawyer review noted above). We’ll change the “last updated” date and make material changes clear. Continuing to use The Tribe after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
Placeholder: pending our legal entity. The governing law and jurisdiction will be set when The Tribe’s registered entity is formed, and confirmed in the lawyer review. We’ve chosen not to name a jurisdiction we can’t yet stand behind rather than state one that isn’t true.
